Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia SLP Certification
- Experience supporting school-aged children, preferably in K-12 or elementary settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage students, staff, and families
- Knowledge of assessment tools, IEP process, and therapeutic strategies tailored to school environments
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and document services accurately
- Self-motivated, organized, and adaptable to the unique rhythms of school-based practice
Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, assessments, and individualized therapy sessions for students with diverse communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement IEPs
- Monitor progress, maintain thorough records, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings
- Provide strategies and resources for educators to support language development within the classroom
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture, helping students achieve communication goals and maximize their academic success
