Make an impact by supporting middle school students with significant communication needs in a contract Speech-Language Pathologist position near Minneapolis, MN. This full-time opportunity offers 37.5 hours per week, running from September 1, 2026, through October 13, 2026. You'll work with a high-needs population where every student utilizes augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, allowing you to employ your expertise in both assessment and innovative intervention strategies.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Department of Education SLP license required
- Credentialed or eligible for SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY
- Experience in a school setting, especially with AAC devices, preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for supporting students with high needs in a middle school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language services to students utilizing AAC devices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and families, to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess students communication abilities and develop appropriate treatment goals
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and report outcomes according to school and district protocols
- Offer support, training, and guidance to staff and caregivers on AAC implementation and best practices
