Step into an exciting opportunity to support students communication development with a contract position onsite near Metairie, LA. This full-time role covers a maternity leave window from September 14th to November 30th, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact during the fall semester.
Working exclusively at Schaumberg Elementary, youll manage a caseload of 5060 students, serving as a vital resource for their speech and language growth. New graduates holding their Clinical Fellowship (CF) are welcome to apply alongside experienced Speech-Language Pathologists.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active CCC-SLP certification preferred; open to Clinical Fellows
- Prior experience in a school environment is ideal
- Comfortable managing a moderate elementary-aged caseload
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities
- Must be able to work onsite full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for students with speech and language needs
- Deliver engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions in both individual and group settings
- Monitor progress and document outcomes to help students meet IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to optimize student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights for student planning
- Maintain thorough, timely records according to policy and best practices
