Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by providing speech-language therapy to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a specialized educational program. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate within a dedicated team of professionals, where your expertise and ASL fluency will directly support student success and communication development.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) certification
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred
  • Able to complete TEA fingerprinting (if not already on file) for credentialing compliance
  • Commitment to supporting students with unique communication needs

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapy and intervention services to students participating in the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf (RDSPD)
  • Collaborate with a team of SLPs and educational staff serving approximately 130 DHH students
  • Focus primarily on therapy services, supporting language acquisition and communication goals
  • Contribute to IEP development, progress monitoring, and family communications
  • Document student progress and ensure compliance with school and state standards
