Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Valid state license (or eligibility) to practice as an SLP in North Carolina
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) highly preferred; strong CFY candidates considered
  • Previous experience in a school-based environment is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage families in therapy planning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, both individually and in groups
  • Maintain case records, document progress, and prepare required reports for teachers and parents
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other specialists to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities
  • Offer guidance and resources to families, supporting carryover skills at home
