Step into a specialized role supporting students communication development with an opportunity designed for professionals passionate about empowering children with hearing loss. This part-time contract position requires commitment just once a month, providing a balanced schedule for dedicated specialists. Located onsite near Long Beach, CA, youll serve as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS Cert. AVT), conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering individualized auditory-verbal therapy for students.
Key Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist Certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (LSLS Cert. AVT)
- Current state license in your profession (SLP, Audiologist, or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing)
- Extensive experience in school-based settings or pediatric populations
- Strong abilities in assessment and intervention planning for auditory-verbal therapy
- Skilled in communication with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Commitment to student growth and data-driven decision making
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide a thorough assessment for Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) services to determine continued eligibility
- Deliver targeted AVT sessions once per month (60 minutes per visit) onsite
- Maintain clear documentation and progress notes per school policies
- Consult and collaborate with faculty and parents to optimize student outcomes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
