Job Description
A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Fullerton, CA, offering a contract role through December with potential extension. This position primarily serves high school students with moderate to severe disabilities, providing vital therapeutic support in both public and nonpublic school settings.
The role involves delivering comprehensive speech and language services, including assessment, individualized therapy, progress monitoring, and collaboration with educators and families. Services are provided full-time near Fullerton, with additional hours at a nonpublic school in Buena Park. Candidates should expect a typical workday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with options for part-time Extended School Year (ESY) work.
Qualifications and desired experience include:
- Current California SLP License
- Certifications: ASL proficiency required; CCC and CFY credentials preferred
- Experience working with pediatric and school-aged populations, especially with moderate to severe disabilities
- Ability to manage caseloads involving mild/moderate and moderate/severe speech and language impairments
- Familiarity with Nonpublic School service delivery is a plus
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct therapy tailored to each student's unique communication needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Consult and coordinate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student success
