As a Contract Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in pediatric care, you'll bring your expertise to work with students, collaborating closely with educators and families to enhance learning outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations, especially in school-based settings
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and Medicaid documentation
- Proficiency in providing both individual and group therapy sessions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to develop rapport with students, teachers, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, evaluations, and screenings to determine student speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to students goals
- Provide direct therapy services to students with diverse communication disorders
- Participate in IEP meetings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and offer recommendations
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support communication skills at school and home
- Adapt techniques and interventions to best support student growth and participation
