Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners by bringing your speech-language pathology expertise to a supportive PreK and kindergarten environment this upcoming 26/27 school year. As part of this contract opportunity, youll help shape the communication skills of approximately 40 students, working collaboratively with educators and families. The position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 35 hours per week.

Ideal candidates are motivated professionals holding a current Illinois SLP license and PEL. Whether you possess your CCC or are in your CFY year, your dedication and commitment to working with early childhood students will shine in this setting.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Valid Illinois SLP license and Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience in school-based settings, particularly with early childhood or primary grades
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and parents
  • Open to candidates with CCC or those completing their CFY

Role responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments for PreK and kindergarten students
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in line with each students needs
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can confidently express themselves
