Job Description
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate is sought for a travel assignment at a supportive public school district in Las Cruces, NM. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support students at Jornada Elementary, with a caseload of approximately 60 students, including three Structured Communication Classrooms (SCCs).
Responsibilities include providing speech-language therapy, managing current caseload needs, and collaborating closely with a team of bilingual SLPs in a welcoming environment. Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices is a plus but not required; a willingness to learn is essential. The focus will be on current therapy services, with no need to address compensatory services at this time.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico state licensure is required before the start date (applicants must have already applied if not yet licensed)
- Professional Education Department (PED) certification from the NM Department of Education is required but can be pending if the state license is active
- Experience or certification as SLP - CCC or in school-based speech therapy preferred
- Bilingual candidates are ideal, though monolingual applicants are also welcome
- Flexibility to work full-time (40 hours preferred); part-time options may be discussed for on-site candidates
