Job Description

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate is sought to provide services at a vibrant public school system in Las Cruces, NM. This contract position offers an opportunity to deliver impactful therapy within a small, highly supportive district known for its welcoming environment and collaborative team.

Location:
Las Cruces, New Mexicoa beautiful area in southern NM, close to El Paso, TX (46 miles), making candidates from surrounding regions a great fit.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy to a caseload of approximately 60 students, including support for three Structured Communication Classrooms (SCCs).
  • Focus on current therapy and ongoing caseload needs without immediate compensatory work.
  • Collaborate closely with two bilingual SLPs already on staff who are supportive and helpful.
  • Provide therapy to both monolingual and bilingual students; bilingual skills are ideal but not required.
  • Engage with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technologies; experience is beneficial but willingness to learn is essential.
  • Maintain compliance with New Mexico state licensure and Public Education Department (PED) certification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a current New Mexico state SLP license (application must be in process or active before start).
  • PED certification through the New Mexico Department of Education is required by the start date; working while certification is pending is acceptable.
  • Eligible or completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for CFY candidates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a supportive school environment.
  • Experience or interest in AAC is a plus.
