Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in students lives by supporting their communication and language development through onsite speech-language therapy. This contract opportunity is looking for up to two dedicated Speech Language Pathologists to serve various K-12 school locations in the greater Flint, Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas. Assignments run from August 17th through June 11th, covering the full academic year. Onsite service is required, and candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to working within school environments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid SLP - CCC credential preferred; strong candidates with CFY status may be considered (Flint requires an established supervisor if CFY).
- Current or pending state licensurewith proof of application submission required.
- Experience or readiness to work with diverse, urban student populations and an understanding of their unique challenges and resources.
- Comfortable providing both individual and group services across age groups and educational levels.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel between buildings within a district to ensure comprehensive support.
- Official university transcripts must be available prior to district submission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy for eligible K-12 students.
- Support integration of language strategies in classrooms by coaching teachers and staff.
- Lead the development of IEP goals and participate in meetings.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation in line with all guidelines.
- Provide assessments, written evaluations, and reports for students suspected of impairments.
- Offer professional development sessions around language development best practices.
- Support students using AAC devices and ensure proper equipment management.
