Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist this fall. Located close to Kenner, LA, this role is an onsite, full-time position covering a maternity leave from September 14th through November 30th, following Thanksgiving break. Youll work with a caseload of 50-60 students at the elementary level, helping to make a meaningful difference in their communication and academic progress.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Active SLP licensure in Louisiana; SLP-CCC strongly preferred, but SLP-CF applicants welcome
- Prior experience or interest in working in a school-based setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized speech and language intervention plans
- Dedication to supporting diverse learners in an elementary environment
- Willingness to work exclusively onsite throughout the assignment
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations
- Developing IEP goals and participating in related meetings
- Providing direct therapy services for students with varied communication needs
- Collaborating with teachers and other campus professionals to maximize student progress
- Maintaining accurate service documentation and progress reports
- Communicating effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
