This opportunity is for several licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to serve multiple schools within a vibrant educational district in Palm Desert, CA. This contract position begins with the 2025-2026 school year, offering a 37.5-hour workweek dedicated to providing high-quality speech and language support to school-aged children.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California SLP license or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification
- Experience or training with pediatric and school-aged populations
- Credentialed Speech-Language Pathologist holding CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion or supervision readiness
- Ability to perform evaluations, develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and provide both direct and indirect speech-language services
- Previous experience in school settings highly desirable
Location: Palm Desert, California (Multiple school assignments across the district)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify student needs
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals
- Provide direct therapeutic services along with indirect support and consultation to educational staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote communication development
- Manage caseload effectively, with ages and grade levels to be determined closer to the academic year
- Maintain detailed records and comply with all district and state reporting requirements
Additional Information:
- This role does not include supervision provided by district staff such as paraprofessionals or nurses; independent clinical and educational decision-making is expected
- Candidates should be prepared for assignments across various schools within the district
