Job Description

Step into an impactful, short-term contract opportunity supporting students within an autism program during a maternity leave coverage this August and September. The role takes place weekdays, 9:00am to 4:40pm, providing full-time, onsite support at an elementary school. You'll collaborate with a compassionate team, offering specialized speech-language services tailored to young learners with autism.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Previous experience working in school settings, preferably with elementary-aged students
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with autism
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
  • Capacity for adaptability and creativity to engage diverse learners

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy onsite to students in the autism program
  • Assess communication skills, set measurable goals, and update progress throughout the assignment
  • Consult with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student success
  • Maintain thorough, accurate documentation in compliance with school and district standards
  • Contribute positively to the school culture during the maternity leave coverage period
