This contract position offers a full-time opportunity for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) based in a school setting near Hyattsville, MD. The role focuses on providing comprehensive speech therapy services throughout the school year within a district serving the Ellicott City area.
Responsibilities include delivering direct and indirect speech-language therapy to students across various schools, managing an itinerant caseload, and participating in paid travel between assignments. The position supports a mix of service delivery models, including teletherapy and in-person sessions, ensuring tailored interventions that meet individual student needs. Collaboration with educational staff and adherence to Individualized Education Program (IEP) protocols are key components. The district utilizes a caseload model with caseload caps to maintain manageable workloads. Administrative duties such as documentation and attendance at team meetings are also expected.
Desired qualifications and skills:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) required
- Experience with pediatric populations in school and healthcare environments
- Competency in teletherapy delivery and management
- Eligible for or currently completing a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Familiarity with school-based caseload and workload models
- Strong organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration
- Ability to navigate IEP systems and participate in related training
Work details:
- Location: Primarily schools serving the Hyattsville and Ellicott City, MD areas
- Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
- Contract duration: Immediate start, ending at the conclusion of the school year
- Travel: Paid itinerant travel between multiple school sites as assigned
