Job Description

A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in Huntersville, NC, supporting multiple elementary and middle schools within a district setting. This contract role starts as soon as possible and runs through May 21, 2025, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week. The position involves working with a diverse caseload, including extension classrooms, itinerant elementary students, and specialized populations such as Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and provide therapy in compliance with district and IEP requirements.
  • Serve multiple school sites, including Brookside Elementary, Gardner Park Elementary, Sherwood Elementary, Pleasant Ridge Elementary, and others.
  • Manage caseloads within established limits following district workload models.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings, and utilize the districts IEP system with provided training.
  • Potentially supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs).
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support students communication goals both in-person and potentially via teletherapy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid SLP credentials with CCC preferred; CFY candidates considered.
  • Experience in pediatric speech-language pathology within school or healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy service delivery is a plus.
  • Ability to manage itinerant work and paid travel between school sites.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
