A full-semester contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve elementary school students in the Huntersville, NC area. This role involves working across multiple elementary schools, providing vital speech therapy services to support student communication development within a supportive and collaborative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language evaluation and therapy services in compliance with district guidelines and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Manage caseloads efficiently, including itinerant assignments across several elementary schools
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective intervention plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings and administrative tasks during designated indirect hours
- Potentially supervise a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), ensuring quality service delivery and professional growth
- Adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs, including those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or appropriate credential
- Experience working in school-based settings, preferably with elementary-aged children
- Background in pediatric speech-language therapy and teletherapy service delivery is a plus
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are also encouraged to apply
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
Location and Schedule:
- Based in Huntersville, NC; service delivery across several elementary schools in the region
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Contract duration: Beginning ASAP through May 21, 2025
