Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students with speech-language needs across multiple schools in the Gastonia area. You'll be part of a dynamic team, helping to make a meaningful difference in childrens lives through direct and indirect speech-language therapy. This contract position begins as soon as possible and runs through May 21st, 2025, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.
Your expertise will see you serving a varied caseload that may include extension and itinerant classrooms, preschoolers, and deaf/hard of hearing students. The position offers the chance to supervise an SLPA, and administrative timeincluding paid team meetingsis built into the schedule. Collaboration, flexibility, and communication skills are essential for success in this engaging and varied environment.
Qualifications:
- Active SLP license; CCC preferred, but CFY candidates will be considered
- Experience in school-based, pediatric, healthcare, or teletherapy settings is highly valued
- Familiarity with IEP systems; training provided on district processes
- Ability to supervise SLPA if needed
- Recent transcripts must be available prior to interview
- Willingness to travel between multiple school locations as assigned
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and participating in Zoom interviews
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to students in a school setting
- Complete evaluations, develop and implement IEPs, and document progress
- Supervise SLPA where applicable
- Attend team meetings and participate in administrative tasks
- Collaborate with educators and families to support student growth
