Job Description

A certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for an elementary school setting serving students in grades K-5. This in-person, contract position is located in Howell, MI, and offers a valuable opportunity to support young learners in a thriving school environment. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, with part-time applicants also considered. The position extends through the remainder of the current school year and comes with benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language assessments and interventions to K-5 students
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust therapy goals accordingly
  • Participate in school meetings and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Support the social and academic success of students with communication challenges

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license or certification
  • Experience working with elementary school-aged children, preferably in grades K-5
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development, disorders, and intervention techniques
  • Ability to engage effectively with students and foster a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
