Job Description
A one-year contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available at a pediatric outpatient clinic in South Florida, with the possibility of extensions or a permanent position. This travel assignment is located in Homestead, FL, offering the chance to work in a dynamic clinical setting focused on individualized care for children.
The SLP will provide services to children aged 2 to 18 years, primarily addressing mild to moderate speech and language disorders. The caseload includes pragmatics, receptive and expressive language delays, reading, writing challenges, articulation issues, and support for children with high-functioning autism. The role excludes medically fragile cases and group therapy, focusing on one-on-one sessions to ensure personalized treatment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations of pediatric patients
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Delivering direct therapy tailored to each child's needs
- Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to collaborate with educators and families
- Documenting progress and maintaining comprehensive records
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY)
- Experience working in school and pediatric settings
- Strong knowledge of developmental speech and language disorders, including autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently
