Job Description

A pediatric outpatient clinic in South Florida is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide individual therapy to children ages 2 to 18 with primarily mild to moderate communication needs. This position offers a one-year contract with the possibility of extensions or transition to permanent employment.

This role focuses on delivering specialized care to a K-12 school population in Homestead, FL, with an emphasis on individualized therapy rather than group sessions. The caseload includes children with challenges such as pragmatics, receptive and expressive language delays, reading and writing difficulties, articulation disorders, and high-functioning autism. Clients are not medically fragile, enabling concentration on developmental and educational speech and language goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of pediatric clients
  • Provide direct, individualized therapy targeting a variety of speech and language disorders
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans aligned with client needs
  • Collaborate with educational teams by attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation for therapy sessions and progress tracking

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Experience working in pediatric and school settings with a focus on pediatrics
  • Strong understanding of speech and language disorders common in school-aged children
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse communication needs
