Step into a valued role supporting speech and language services for K-5 students through a rewarding contract opportunity. This position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact by working closely with a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. Youll provide direct therapy and assist with assessments while contributing to improved communication outcomes for young learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in speech communication or related field
- SLPA credential with eligibility to practice in Virginia
- Experience or strong interest in school-based settings preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Fingerprinting and background check clearance prior to start
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy sessions to K-5 students under SLP supervision
- Support assessment processes and assist with documentation for IEPs
- Collaborate with education professionals and families to create supportive learning environments
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Maintain timely and accurate records in the districts IEP system (training provided)
- Utilize dedicated therapy space at Ettrick Elementary for optimal service delivery
- Receive paid compensation for all hours worked within the contractual schedule
This opportunity offers a flexible interview process via Zoom, phone, or onsite, with quick decision-makingtypically within 1-2 days. The contract runs from August 17, 2024, through May 30, 2025, providing steady, full-time hours (37.5 per week) in a positive and engaging school environment.
