Job Description

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is needed to provide specialized services within a K-12 school setting in Brevard, North Carolina. This contract position offers the opportunity to support students with speech and language needs across the school year, including Extended School Year (ESY) services during the summer.

Responsibilities include providing direct speech-language therapy to 6th and 8th-grade students and completing all typical SLP duties, such as assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and communication with educational teams. The role requires itinerant services at one assigned school location, delivering approximately 2.5 hours of therapy per week. Collaboration with school staff through paid team meetings and allocated administrative time is incorporated into the work schedule. The district follows a workload model with a case assignment that is manageable and focused on individual student needs.

Ideal candidates will hold an active SLP CCC credential and have experience working in pediatric and school-based environments. The ability to commit to continuity of care through the end of the current school year, ESY services in July, as well as starting with the new school year in August, is highly preferred to ensure consistent support for the students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Experience providing therapy in school and pediatric settings
  • Knowledge of school-based speech and language services and compliance standards
  • Ability to deliver itinerant services and manage a caseload within the workload model
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators and families

Location: Brevard, North Carolina Work Hours: Approximately 2.5 hours per week Schools Assigned: One (itinerant) Caseload: Focused on 6th and 8th graders

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SLP to make a meaningful impact by supporting student communication goals within a structured educational setting.
