Job Description

Provide essential speech and language support to students in a K-12 school environment in Bessemer, AL. This contract position involves delivering specialized therapy services, collaborating with educators, and contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with diverse communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Develop and implement tailored therapy plans based on individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student performance.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensure in Alabama.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations in educational settings.
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored to working with children and school staff.

  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week
