Job Description

Step into an impactful role delivering exceptional speech and language services to students in a dynamic school-based environment near Harvey, LA. As a contract-based Speech Language Pathologist, you will work full-time throughout the academic year, supporting students communication development and educational success. This onsite position follows the standard school calendar, with a workweek of 35 hours (Monday through Friday, 7 hours per day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).

Key qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required
  • Active state licensure (or eligibility to obtain licensure in Louisiana)
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred
  • Experience in school settings highly desirable
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches for a variety of school-age students

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language therapy in compliance with student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
  • Complete timely evaluations, progress reports, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and assist in eligibility determination processes
  • Employ a range of therapeutic strategies tailored to diverse student needs

Additional requirements:

  • Pre-employment drug screening and fingerprinting (in addition to standard onboarding)
  • All offers contingent upon school board contract renewal at the June 3, 2026 board meeting
