Job Description

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist supporting students near Albany, NY, beginning this May. This role focuses on providing essential speech and language services to a primarily non-verbal caseload within a collaborative school environment. Your expertise will play a critical role in helping students achieve their communication goals and succeed academically and socially.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Current or eligible for NY state SLP licensure
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates welcome
  • Previous experience with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of working with non-verbal or minimally verbal students
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite for direct interaction and team collaboration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assess students speech, language, and communication abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, focusing on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) when necessary
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and special education teams to support each students IEP goals
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Provide guidance and training to educational staff and families on communication strategies
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all students
