Step into a dynamic, supportive school environment as a Speech-Language Pathologist serving Schaumberg Elementary, conveniently located near Gretna, LA. This contract opportunity spans from September 14th until after Thanksgiving break (returning November 30th), providing essential coverage during a maternity leave. With a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week and a caseload of 50-60 students onsite only, youll play an integral role in students communication success and development.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Holds or is eligible for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP (CCC-SLP) or open to strong Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates
- Louisiana SLP licensure (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with school-aged populations, ideally in elementary settings
- Strong assessment, documentation, and AAC knowledge preferred
- Collaborative, flexible, and committed to evidence-based practices
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary students in alignment with IEPs
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and contribute to eligibility determinations
- Develop, implement, and review individualized educational plans
- Maintain detailed progress records and compliance paperwork
- Partner effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff
- Support inclusive education and student success in general/ special education classrooms
