Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school environments in the Grand Rapids area. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to help students achieve their communication goals throughout the current school year, with potential for extension into the following year depending on performance.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the state of Michigan
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Previous experience working with children at various developmental stages, from early childhood through high school, strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and documentation protocols within a school setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, staff, and families with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of individual students and group sessions
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders across multiple age groups
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in consultation with educational teams and parents
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services, both individually and in group settings
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary staff discussions, and ongoing professional development
- Serve as a resource for staff, offering insights and strategies to support students communication development in the classroom
