Discover a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting K-12 students in a vibrant educational setting near Gloucester, VA. This onsite role offers a chance to impact young learners communication skills while fostering collaboration with educators and families.
In this role, youll provide comprehensive assessment, therapy, and evaluation services tailored to students unique needs. Youll participate actively in IEP meetings, working alongside a dedicated team to develop and implement effective intervention strategies. If youre an experienced SLP, youll also have the opportunity to supervise an SLPA, guiding and mentoring their professional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Virginia Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Meet all applicable Virginia and district-specific criteria for school-based SLP services
- Demonstrated experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations
- Strong understanding of the IEP process and ability to contribute meaningful input
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, families, and colleagues
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations for K-12 students to identify speech and language needs
- Deliver individualized and group therapy sessions tailored to student goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to student-centered planning and documentation
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Supervise and support an SLPA, fostering their professional development
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student growth
This contract position is for 35 hours per week, all onsite, offering flexibility and valuable hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.
