A dynamic opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists to provide essential services in a school setting with travel assignments across Gastonia, North Carolina. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive speech-language therapy to diverse student populations, including extension classrooms and itinerant services, from elementary through middle school levels. The position offers the chance to work in multiple school environments, including specialized classrooms such as pre-kindergarten and deaf and hard of hearing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language evaluations and develop individualized therapy plans aligned with student needs.
- Provide direct therapy services in school, pediatric, and teletherapy settings.
- Manage caseloads effectively within the districts workload model, ensuring compliance with educational standards.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support students communication goals.
- Utilize the districts IEP system with provided training to document and track student progress.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as needed.
- Participate in paid administrative and team meetings to foster interdisciplinary communication.
- Travel between assigned schools, offering flexibility and variety in daily work environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience in school-based and pediatric therapy services.
- Familiarity with teletherapy delivery methods.
- Eligibility to provide supervision for CFY or support of SLPA staff.
- Ability to adapt to varied caseloads and settings with strong organizational skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to student care.
Location: Gastonia, NC with travel required to multiple schools within the district.
