Connect with dynamic students across a variety of elementary and pre-K settings as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist! Step into a supportive, collaborative environment, engaging with multiple schools and diverse student needs while using your expertise in speech-language therapy.
Youll work a steady full-time schedule through the school year, supporting children from pre-K through elementary grades. Experience teletherapy, Itinerant services, and even the opportunity to supervise SLPA staff. This assignment begins as soon as possible and extends until late May, offering you a rewarding academic-year experience.
Skills & Background Sought:
- Active SLP license, eligible for North Carolina school service
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) applicants welcome
- Background in pediatric, educational, or healthcare-based speech-language pathology
- Experience with teletherapy, school IEP systems, and/or work with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students a plus
- Ability to supervise and support SLPA team members as needed
- Willingness to travel between assigned school sites
- Strong collaboration skills and commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services in assigned schools
- Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and paid administrative hours
- Supervise SLPA(s) as needed
- Use districts IEP management system (training provided)
- Work with both caseload and workload models, depending on assignment
- Support itinerant and extension classrooms, including pre-K and Deaf/Hard of Hearing services
