Job Description

Provide specialized speech-language pathology services in a contract role within the Gastonia, NC area, supporting students across multiple elementary, middle, and specialized classrooms. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse caseloads including extension classrooms, itinerant settings, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. The contract runs from ASAP to May 21, 2025, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect speech-language pathology therapy aligned with school-based practices and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Manage caseloads in various school environments including elementary, middle school, and specialized educational settings
  • Utilize teletherapy modalities and comply with district protocols for therapy space and documentation
  • Potentially supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs)
  • Participate in paid team meetings and complete administrative responsibilities related to caseload management
  • Engage in district-required training and adhere to all credentialing and compliance standards, including transcript submission prior to interviews

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion
  • Experience in pediatric and school-based speech therapy, including teletherapy delivery
  • Ability to effectively support diverse student needs including Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations
  • Familiarity with caseload and workload management models in educational settings
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
