Job Description

A full-semester contract opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to provide services in elementary school settings in Gastonia, NC. This role involves working across multiple elementary schools, including extension classrooms and itinerant assignments, supporting a diverse range of students including those who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy using evidence-based practices consistent with typical SLP duties
  • Manage caseloads within a workload model, with potential supervision of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs)
  • Participate in indirect service hours, including administrative tasks and paid team meetings
  • Maintain documentation and utilize the districts IEP system, with training provided
  • Travel between assigned schools as necessary to meet student needs

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience in healthcare, pediatrics, teletherapy, and school-based settings preferred
  • Current California licensure or eligibility to practice in North Carolina
  • Ability to supervise SLPAs; CFY candidates will be considered
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseloads and collaborate with educational teams

Work Details:

  • Hours: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
  • Location: Gastonia, NC (serving several elementary schools)

Additional Information: Candidates will be interviewed via Zoom. Transcripts are required prior to interviews. The district provides supervision options, with some aspects TBD. This position requires fingerprinting clearance before starting.
