Job Description
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in the Port Angeles School District, providing services primarily in elementary school settings. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, offering a meaningful role working itinerantly within the district. The position allows for a flexible schedule with options for travel or hybrid work environments.
Location: Port Angeles, WA
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy services to students in elementary schools, utilizing both direct and indirect therapy techniques.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
- Participate in team meetings and documentation processes in compliance with district standards.
- Manage caseloads according to district workload models, ensuring effective intervention and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with district staff and follow local supervision requirements when applicable.
- Maintain professional credentials and comply with necessary state licensing and fingerprinting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State license as an SLP or SLPA.
- ESA Certification as required.
- Experience working in school-based speech-language pathology settings.
- Ability to work itinerantly and manage travel between school sites.
- Competence in utilizing IEP systems; training will be provided.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
