Job Description
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) is needed for a contract position in a school setting located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role involves providing specialized speech and language services to students, supporting their communication development and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address speech, language, and communication disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to support student growth
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and related documentation
- Participate in meetings such as Individualized Education Plan (IEP) conferences and team discussions
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (ASHA CCC-SLP preferred)
- State licensure or eligibility to practice in Florida
- Experience working in educational settings with a diverse student population
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, assessment tools, and therapy techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative school environment
