An exciting opportunity awaits Speech-Language Pathologists seeking a rewarding role supporting elementary students in a dynamic educational setting near Flint, Michigan. This contract position focuses on grades K-5 and requires in-person services for the remainder of the current school year. While the role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, part-time applicants are also encouraged to apply, offering added flexibility to accommodate your schedule.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid state license or eligibility for Michigan SLP licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred, CFY applicants considered
- Experience with elementary-aged children (K-5) in school-based settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students in grades K-5
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Provide direct, in-person therapy services using evidence-based interventions
- Work closely with educators and support staff to integrate therapy into the classroom
- Maintain accurate records of evaluations, IEPs, progress notes, and compliance documentation
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for home support
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
