Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with grades K5. This rewarding in-person position is contract-based and located conveniently near Flint, MI. Immerse yourself in a supportive school setting, delivering essential speech and language services to help young learners unlock their full potential. The role is available full time at 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility to accommodate part-time applicants as well. This assignment extends through the remainder of the current school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Active state licensure and relevant certifications for practice in Michigan
- Experience with elementary-aged students, particularly within K5, is preferred
- Knowledge in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a range of speech/language disorders
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Ability to adapt services for diverse students and learning styles
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students with communication disorders
- Provide direct therapy to students both individually and in small groups
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to integrate strategies in the classroom
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and participate actively in IEP meetings
- Communicate with families to support student progress and offer practical resources
- Participate in professional development and ongoing school staff activities
