Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract assignment as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist, serving students across K-12 grade levels in dynamic school settings near Flint, MI. As part of a supportive educational team, youll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student achievement through individualized and group speech and language services. Candidates ready to work onsite are particularly desired, and preference is given to SLPs with CCC credentials, though strong Clinical Fellow (CFY) candidateswith a supervisor in placemay be considered.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (official university transcripts required prior to placement)
- Active Michigan SLP license or proof of application with pending status
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFYs with supervision considered
- Previous experience in school-based settings or willingness to learn
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges and resource needs in urban educational environments
- Comfort working onsite and willingness to travel between school buildings
- Expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems is a plus
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to individuals and small groups
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to maximize student progress
- Develop and monitor individualized student goals and participate in IEP/MET meetings
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and produce timely written reports
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines
- Support classroom language development and deliver staff professional development
- Assist with AAC systems and ensure effective integration at school and home
- Manage therapy equipment and materials efficiently
- Travel between schools as needed to serve students effectively
