Job Description

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Several years of professional experience as a school-based SLP
  • Oregon teaching license with Speech Impaired or Communications Disorder endorsement, or a State of Oregon Speech-Language Pathology License
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Background working with students who have moderate to severe disabilities
  • Experience using a range of augmentative communication systems (both low and high tech)
  • Valid Oregon drivers license and (if required) First Aid/CPR card
  • Outstanding ability to collaborate and communicate with students, families, and school staff
  • Commitment to confidentiality regarding sensitive student and school information

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language services to K-12 students per IEP goals
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop intervention plans for students with varied communication disorders
  • Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, and specialists in a multidisciplinary team structure
  • Document and monitor student progress with clarity and compliance
  • Support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs in the classroom
  • Educate and guide school staff and parents to improve student outcomes
