An exciting opportunity is available for a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist to provide essential support in an elementary school setting located in Elgin, IL. This contract position offers a chance to work closely with students in general education classrooms, delivering compassionate, effective speech and language services. The assignment runs for the current school year (CSY), with a focus on FMLA coverage from late March to early June.
Key Details:
- Location: Elgin, IL
- Setting: Elementary school, general education classrooms
- Schedule: 30 hours per week (9:00 AM 3:30 PM), 5 days per week
- Caseload: Approximately 45 students
- Student Needs: Variety of disabilities; 1-2 students utilizing AAC devices
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience in pediatric SLP, particularly within school-based settings
- Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and support their communication needs
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with educators and families to support student progress
- Document student performance and maintain accurate records
- Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) techniques when appropriate
