Job Description

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available working within a K-12 school setting serving a diverse student population in Elgin, IL. This contract-to-hire role offers both part-time and full-time options with a flexible schedule to accommodate individual availability. The position focuses on providing direct speech-language therapy services and conducting assessments for students aged 522 years district-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized speech-language therapy to school-aged students
  • Perform thorough assessments and evaluations to identify student needs
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and meetings
  • Complete detailed documentation and reports in accordance with district guidelines
  • Provide compensatory services as required for full-time roles
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student success

Required Qualifications:

  • Illinois Speech-Language Pathology License
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Completion of fingerprinting prior to start date
  • Experience working with school-aged populations preferred
  • Ability to serve students district-wide within a caseload-based model
  • Strong skills in assessment, therapy, and documentation
  • Ability to work independently as a non-itinerant clinician at a single school site
  • Candidates completing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) encouraged to apply (virtual supervision provided)

Position Details:

  • Contract duration through May 29, 2026, with an ASAP start date
  • Assigned to one school site, non-itinerant role
  • Part-time (1114 hours per week) with opportunity for full-time including compensatory services
  • Flexible scheduling based on mutual agreement
