Job Description

Step into a rewarding school-based contract opportunity for Speech-Language Pathologists this fall. Three full-time positions are available to cover upcoming maternity leaves in a well-respected district near Edison, NJ. These assignments are set to begin in September 2026 and will last approximately 12 weeks, with a commitment of 35+ hours per week, onsite only.

Each role emphasizes supporting elementary-aged children, with a focus on classrooms serving students with autism as well as a broad preschool through grade five population. Locations include dedicated elementary buildings in Sewaren and Iselin, with a third placement to be determined within the district.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active NJ Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Current NJ Speech-Language Specialist (SLS) Certification
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is strongly preferred
  • Clinical fellows are welcome to apply; please note external supervision is required as the district does not provide supervision onsite
  • Prior school-based or pediatric experience is ideal, particularly with students on the autism spectrum
  • Familiarity with IEP documentation and pediatric assessment tools
  • SLPAs are not eligible for this assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students in individual and group settings
  • Conduct evaluations and ongoing assessments for students referred or with IEPs
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
  • Maintain thorough documentation for student progress and compliance
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to developing appropriate educational strategies
