Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by bringing your skills as a Speech-Language Pathologist to a dynamic school environment on a contract basis for the 2022/2023 school year. This opportunity is located in a picturesque region near Eagle River, AK, with openings in communities including Point Mackenzie, Butte, and Palmer.

Youll be welcomed by a supportive and collaborative team, where past SLPs have spoken highly of their positive experiences. Caseloads are manageable and designed with your expertise in mind: elementary assignments average 45-50 students, while high school positions may include up to 60 students, many of whom require only consultative services. Populations range from mild to moderate disabilities, covering all age groups.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Alaska SLP license
  • Valid DEED (teaching) certification
  • Experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Comfort working with diverse age ranges and mild to moderate disability populations
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset

Role Expectations:

  • Provide speech and language services across designated caseloads
  • Collaborate with special education and general education staff
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state regulations
  • Develop IEPs and participate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Engage caregivers and staff in the therapy process
