Make an impact supporting students communication skills and academic growth in a dynamic, collaborative school environment. Work with dedicated teams serving elementary, middle, and high school populations, offering speech-language services in a school-based contract role conveniently located near Detroit, MI.
Qualifications:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license in the state of Michigan
- Previous school-based experience is preferred, ensuring familiarity with IEP processes and school environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with diverse teams and families
- Adaptability to support students across a range of ages and grade levels (elementary, middle, and high school)
- Solid organization and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy to students identified with communication disorders
- Conduct assessments, screenings, and evaluations to develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and integrate strategies in classroom settings
- Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement, confidence, and communication growth
- Stay current on best practices and legal requirements for school-based SLP services
