A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, contract position in the Detroit, MI area. This role begins August 2026 and runs through June 25, 2027, providing dedicated support to K-12 students. Your expertise will directly contribute to empowering students with improved communication skills, making a lasting positive impact on their academic and social growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active Michigan (MI) SLP license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA strongly preferred
- Prior experience working in school settings or with pediatric caseloads is highly valued
- Comfortable working full-time, on-site; remote/virtual work is not available for this assignment
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments and therapies for K-12 students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress, maintain timely documentation, and adjust intervention plans as needed
- Consult with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success in academic and social settings
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to collaborative decision-making
- Remain current on best practices and compliance with state regulations regarding school-based speech services
