Job Description
Providing specialized speech-language services for a K-12 school district focused on transitioning adult students toward independence, this contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with credentials including SLP CCC and school-based experience. The role is located in Detroit, MI, and serves as a vital position supporting students aged 18-25 in an adult transition program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy to approximately 10-12 students within an adult transition program focused on community integration and work-based learning.
- Provide services two days per week, totaling 14 hours.
- Collaborate with education and transition teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) targeted at functional independence.
- Document progress and participate in meetings as required.
- Adapt interventions to meet unique student needs while adhering to district protocols and standards.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP CCC).
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with transition-age students.
- Skilled in managing caseloads within school-based therapy models.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with district personnel.
- Familiarity with IEP systems and willingness to receive specific training as offered.
Location: Detroit, MI (Serving Riverview Community School District)
Duration: Contract through the current school year (CSY)
