Step into a fulfilling contract position providing speech-language pathology services to students in a supportive educational environment near Des Plaines, IL. Youll collaborate with educators, families, and staff to help students develop communication and swallowing skills essential for their academic and social success. The role is ideal for professionals experienced with pediatric populations, and supports both on-site and teletherapy services for varied caseloads.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active Illinois SLP license and CCC-SLP credential (Clinical Fellowship Year professionals considered)
- Experience in school settings preferred, including familiarity with IEP development and delivery
- Background in pediatric therapy and a strong interest in special education
- Comfort with technology to support teletherapy initiatives
- Knowledge of healthcare and educational requirements for SLPs
Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders within a K-12 school population
- Develop, implement, and track progress on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize digital tools and IEP systems to document and report progress; training provided as needed
- Participate actively in team meetings, planning sessions, and ongoing collaboration with school staff
- Engage with families and caregivers to provide support and progress updates
- Travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant SLP (paid travel included)
- Provide or receive supervision, based on professional experience and district protocols
