A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide FMLA coverage in an elementary school located in Des Plaines, IL. This contract position spans the current school year and offers a 30-hour workweek from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This role involves managing a caseload of approximately 45 students, all of whom are in general education classrooms. The caseload includes a diverse range of disabilities, with 1-2 students using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices. The school does not have a specialized program, making this an ideal setting for an SLP experienced with pediatric populations and school-based therapy.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) in SLP
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children
- Familiarity with AAC device support is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary-aged students within general education settings
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support student progress
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school guidelines
