Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role providing speech-language support to elementary students in grades K-5. As an in-person SLP, youll make a daily impact by empowering children at a pivotal stage in their education. In this role, youll collaborate with teachers, families, and fellow specialists to help each child reach their communication milestones. Your expertise will be a valued part of a supportive school community dedicated to student growth.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Hold or be eligible for current SLP licensure appropriate for elementary school settings
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5) in school settings preferred
- Solid understanding of speech, language, and communication disorders in young children
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators and families
- Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with school policies
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations for students with suspected speech/language needs
- Develop and deliver evidence-based therapy sessions individually and in small groups
- Work closely with classroom teachers to support carryover of strategies in daily school life
- Document progress, maintain student records, and attend IEP meetings
- Communicate therapy goals and progress with parents, guardians, and staff
- Stay current with best practices and participate in professional development as needed
