Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Lapeer area. This contract position is available immediately through June 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact for a diverse group of students. Youll enjoy a structured weekly schedule, with each day spent at one of four nearby schools, supporting approximately 10 students per locationranging from general education students with speech needs to those with mild cognitive or spectrum-related speech needs. With mild caseloads and collaborative school environments, youll have ample opportunity to engage, assess, and help students thrive in their communication.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Valid (or eligibility for) state licensure in Michigan
- Experience providing services in a school setting preferred
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with staff and families
- Comfortable working with students with a range of mild speech, cognitive, or spectrum needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students
- Deliver direct therapy and document student progress
- Consult and collaborate with educators and families to support academic success
- Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with state and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team decision-making
