Job Description

Step into a highly impactful role supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) students in a specialized educational environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and eager to collaborate within a dedicated team. Youll work full-time alongside two other SLPs, delivering therapy services tailored specifically for DHH students in a regional day school program. With a focus on direct therapy over evaluations, youll play an essential part in the development and communication progress of students across various ages.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
  • Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or a DHHT certification
  • Experience in a school-based or DHH setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to complete TEA fingerprinting requirements if not already cleared for Texas schools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group speech therapy sessions to DHH students as assigned
  • Collaborate closely with a team of SLPs and educators to meet student success goals
  • Participate in developing, updating, and implementing IEPs for assigned caseload
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and ongoing service delivery
  • Utilize your ASL proficiency to bridge communication and foster engaging interactions
