Key qualifications and desired background:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Current state licensure and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility
- Solid experience with assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, or fluency disorders in school-aged children
- Familiarity with IEP development and participation in multidisciplinary school teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Passion for helping students of diverse backgrounds reach individualized goals
Main responsibilities in this role:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify student needs and strengths
- Develop and deliver individualized and group therapy sessions targeting communication skills
- Document progress and collaborate on IEPs, sharing observations and recommendations with teams and families
- Engage in school-based meetings and contribute professional insights to support academic success
- Provide support and training for staff and family members to promote carryover of skills
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and district regulations regarding student services
